Meet Angela – Event’s Co-Ordinator

1.    How long have you worked in Dunsilly Hotel? 
I have worked in Dunsilly Hotel for 10 years, yes that long! 
I started off in the Bar & Grill and worked there for 8 years before moving to Reception as the Head Receptionist for a year and a half & now I am the Events Co-Ordinator!

It’s great to see that within the McKeever Hotel Group that there is a great chance of progression throughout.

2.    What role do you play in weddings here at Dunsilly Hotel? 
Our General Manager, Roland Bailie, has always been very hands on when it comes to weddings at the hotel. I will assist Roland in all areas of the Wedding Planning Process. I am here to make sure that everything goes smoothly for our couples and help them out with any queries they may have from menu choices to finding the perfect supplier.

I take pride in making sure that every couple truly takes the time to enjoy the planning of their wedding and make sure that the attention to their detail is to the highest quality so that they 100% feel that they are in safe hands, & that they can trust us to deliver the high standard service that we always strive for.

3.    What’s your favourite thing about weddings? 
I absolutely love hearing the couple’s ideas and seeing how excited they are about their special day. There truly is no better feeling than seeing all their hard work and ideas come to life on the day!

Each couple that crosses our doors has their own vision for their wedding day & I think it is highly important that their personalities shines through their wedding décor & theme.

That is definitely my favourite part in being involved in weddings – seeing them transform our already beautiful Laburnum Suite into what they dreamed their wedding would look like.

4.    Do you have any advice for couples planning their wedding? 
Be organised. It’s that simple.

Start planning early, buy a wedding planner or set up a wedding email account, this helps to keep all relevant information in the one place.

Honestly, if you are organised it really is half the battle & makes your wedding planning more enjoyable which it should be!

5.    What makes Dunsilly Hotel the perfect wedding venue?
I think Dunsilly Hotel is a perfect venue for a wedding because it has its own style and personality, which I think makes it stand out from your typical wedding venue. It gives people that ‘home away from home’ feel and I think that it is such an important aspect of your venue that you feel totally comfortable when there.

This is greatly strengthened by the staff force here, everyone is extremely friendly & welcoming, and you are always guaranteed service with a smile.  We really appreciate the fact that we are a family run business and carry that attitude through our relationships with one another and how we see our guests also, making us very family friendly.

Our location is also fantastic, it’s close to the International Airport and the M2 making us easily accessed. We also have a private feel to our surrounding as well, which adds to the intimate wedding feeling.

However, one of the main reasons I think we should be on everyone’s ‘Possible Venue’ list, is because of our 1 wedding per day policy.

We believe that you should have all our attention on your wedding day & not have to share the limelight with anyone else. It also means you have unlimited access to our beautiful suites, the Laburnum & Fernhill. And let’s not forget about our gorgeous gardens, perfect for wedding photos or an outside ceremony or drinks reception.
